Terminology

The following terminology will be used throughout the documentation:

• QPLEX is a computational methodology introduced in the QPLEX book.

• The QPLEX Python Package is a collection of software tools that perform QPLEX calculations.

• An engine is a Python class, included in the QPLEX Python Package or created using the Q Development Kit, whose purpose is to perform QPLEX calculations for some particular model.

This documentation also assumes familiarity with basic terminology and concepts of probability, such as a probability mass function and its abbreviation pmf.
